Facing and Centering/Chamfering
Genesee manufactures facing and centering tools using conventional blades
in a hollow mill body. We also offer special indexable facing and centering
tools using inserts as shown in this example.
The special indexable facing and centering tool is designed to face
from a .310 diameter to 1.560 diameter using two No. TPMW 32.51 indexable
inserts. The tool is provided with a special depth adjustable center drill
or spotting drill as required.
Genesee hollow mills are ideal for facing, chamfering or centering bar stock or

A major U.S. steel manufacturer required tooling for a bar stock chamfering machine to 1/4" long chamfer on steel bars ranging from 1/2" diameter to 2" diameter.
GEN-DEX® is used to chamfer all sizes of bars at either 30° or 45° as needed.
