These examples illustrate the advantages of producing tapers and points with Genesee Hollow Mills. Where high production is required or desired this is a clear cut area where hollow milling significantly outperforms other turning methods.

Genesee will design the tool body and blades necessary to maximize your productivity and achieve consistent concentric parts. While in some cases a standard tool body is acceptable (dependent on material, length of turn and angle of taper), a specially-designed body is usually required.

Special hollow mill with 4 HSS taper turning blades produce a 4 degree taper 1.65 inches long. With this method a part is produced every 1.6 seconds (time in cut).
